Laboratory Testing
Routine laboratory testing is a key part of preventive care and pre-surgical screening at Planned Pethood. Regular blood, urine, and fecal tests help us monitor your pet's health and detect any early signs of illness. Common tests include the Complete Blood Count (CBC) to check immune system health, the Blood Chemistry Panel to assess vital organ function, urinalysis for kidney function and urinary tract infections, and fecal testing to identify parasites like roundworm and coccidia. We also offer heartworm testing and tick-borne disease screening, which should be done annually.
Ultrasound (at Brooksville only)
Ultrasound is a non-invasive tool used in routine abdominal imaging and pre-surgical assessments. At Planned Pethood, we provide ultrasound services through a trusted third-party provider at our Brooksville location. Abdominal imaging helps with evaluating your pet’s general organ health and checking for cysts or abnormalities.
